Colorado Springs, Colorado In 1964, the Wilderness Act revolutionized the way the United States would conserve its most pristine wild lands for future generations. Today, we continue to reap the rewards of the protection of nearly 110 million acres of wilderness areas from coast to coast, and it’s time to celebrate all that has been accomplished during the last 50 years, free to all at Imagination Celebration’s Imagination Space at The Citadel, on the second floor of the mall near Burlington Coat Factory.
Festivities will begin on December 3 with the Colorado Wilderness 50th Anniversary Exhibit of John Fielder’s Photos, which has traveled from the State Capitol to Durango, from Craig to Gunnison, and now to Colorado Springs. This remarkable tribute to Colorado’s wild lands on display at Imagination Space’s gallery area through January 13.
On December 5, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., a reception will welcome the exhibit with food and drink and a special viewing of the photos which capture one of Colorado’s greatest assets, its wilderness. At 7:00 p.m. The grand diversity of Wilderness in Colorado and beyond will be celebrated in a slideshow by John Fielder, complemented with fine music and commentary. The program honors the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act and all the law has accomplished.
All festivities are free and open to the public, with donations gratefully accepted, particularly through www.indygive.com/imagine now through December 31.
Join us for this celebration of all that has been accomplished for America’s wild lands during the last 50 years and for all that will continue to be accomplished during the next 50 years!
