Adapted for the stage by David Wood
From the book by Roald Dahl

In David Wood’s exciting dramatization of Roald Dahl’s award-winning story, a 15-foot-tall vegetarian giant with vocabulary problems teams up with a little orphan girl called Sophie. Together, Sophie and her new “jumbly” friend, the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) devise a plan to save the children of England from child-eating giants. Along the way, they are assisted by the Queen of England, the British Army, and the Royal Air Force.

Humongous on humor and large on laughs, the story of The BFG was Roald Dahl’s personal favorite. On stage, his whizzcracklingly wacky tale comes to life with puppets and people creating a fantastical world of towering giants and magical adventures.

This one-hour performance is presented by Dallas Children’s Theater, a company Time Magazine recognizes as one of the top 5 children’s theater companies and designated an American Masterpiece Touring Artist by the National Endowment for the Arts. The magic of live theater is for all ages.  We recommend you consider starting your child at age 3 for live theater and this show is outstanding for 2nd-6th graders.  Encourage them to read the book with you before coming to see the performance.

For each Over the Moon Family Theater experience, you are encouraged to don your favorite kid jammies, beloved character attire, or your own imaginative closet creation and join us in the Pikes Peak Center lobby one hour before the show starts to engage in family fun.  Activities include Imagination Celebration’s signature hands-on projects, meeting special surprise guests, and exploring activity stations  throughout Imagination on the Mezzanine.  Each child is given a FREE keepsake IC PlayBook packed with more activities to do at home.  After enjoying the one-hour performance, head back to the lobby for special treats and autographs from the cast of characters!

Sign Language Network will provide professional sign language interpretation.
